Default WWII M1 and XVI Corps liner - correct?

I just found this helmet. From what I know, it's WWII era. The estate had several items from the vet, including his WWII campaign medals. Foot Locker was marked XVI Corps, which the liner has their insignia on it. But I'm not sure the liner is WWII era, is it? If not, I was thinking Korea. It has an eyelet in the front.

The shell has a very tight seam in the rear, and a heat stamp of M 342 A. This seems WWII era. Thanks for any help.

    Hello,

you have a helmet shell and a liner from 1950's US production.

The heat stamp with the M- means that the shell was manufactured by McCord between 1951 and 1958, or for a very small order in 1965.
The color looks very light ... should be Munsell 10Y / 3. Then the shell would have been overhauled and repainted in the 1960s.
North & Judd's chinstraps (anchor symbol) were made in this way until around 1967.

The liner is a copy by CAPAC / Westinghourse, manufactured around 1951-1953.
The liner was painted over and given the decal.
It is questionable whether these liners have ever seen Korea.

The way the helmet looks, it is more likely to date to the Vietnam era.

However, as far as I could research, the XVI Corps was never deployed in Vietnam.

So probably a helmet that was used in the reserve.
