Hand sewn mines, and flamethrowers
I have read about a "hand sewn" mine. Based on my poor reading/translation skills in Russian, it sounds like some sort of mine, that the soldier simply armed, by pulling a pin, or cord, then threw in the path of oncoming enemy troops to slow them down. It seems to also be referred to as a "Cavalry mine", as it was intended for use by Cavalry/Mounted troops to sew by throwing behind them as they withdrew.
Has anyone else ever heard of this?
Does anyone have a picture, or description of this mine?
Flamethrowers:
I am interested in proper GPW era flamethrowers of the Soviet Union.
does anyone know of any good books, or other sources?

Re: Hand sewn mines, and flamethrowers
As far as I know there no any owners of the ROKS flamethrowers in the West, exclude the Thomas Salazar- owner of the Ostfront - German and Russian WWII militaria, we'we make the deal with him to the ROKS-2 about 10 years ago, I suspect he still owe this nice and rare item.
I think this flamethrower was posted here some time ago

I have read about a "hand sewn" mine.
A type of Gammon Bomb maybe?
No. 82 Grenade - Gammon bomb
The Japanese had a Cloth wrapped Mine, but I don't remember what it was called.
"Sewn" implies needle and thread. "Sown" would be like sowing seeds, or in your case, Mines. Both are pronounced the same way though.
