    A very small amount of petroleum jelly (not oil) applied with a cotton swab then wipe off residue, do not scrub it because the metal has been compromised and can break apart, although yours is not that bad.

    Here is another Danziger skull that has the same issue

    To my eyes (post # 12) the skull looks unique in that while it's integral to the entire stamping, it looks 'off' - rotated clockwise??

    Not really sure what you mean. These types of skulls have a tilted look to them but here are more pics as well as few more examples from my collection. I also did an indepth comparison with a quality fake on this thread, read post #17: Fake Danziger Skulls
