Especially if you have owned it that long, I think it is alright. It is the later, ca. 1939 variant of this badge versus the ca. 1935 or whenever of the other.
Winkelmann knows best. I do not want to hit anyone in the head, but that is my supposition.

100% original. There is even one small flaw from embossing visible in this example but i do not want to Point Out where.

Hands up....I didn't see it as A 3 piece constructed button, Maybe my eyes are getting worse As I said right at the start "needs to be 3 piece" Thanks to the true experts
The button is a one-looker original.
