Link to a BBC article about them: Ukraine finds British WW2 Hurricane planes outside Kyiv - BBC News
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Yes,I saw it too ! Suddenly, people are asking me :-
'Whatever happened to all those Spitfires from Burma ?'
At least these Hurricanes actually exist.
Also just found this BBC news report video on Youtube:
It's fortunate that despite the ongoing war, they're able to recover these historical relics.
It certainly would be something if they were able to reconstruct at least one whole aircraft shell from what they find, as suggested in the news clip.
It sounds like they were cut up and buried so that they would not have to
be paid for at the end of the war.

Live to ride -- Ride to live
I was addicted to the "Hokey-Pokey" but I've turned
myself around.
The Burma Spitfires were a figment of the imagination of one hapless farmer who despite being told that they were never even manufactured so could not exist still spouts his rubbish about them.
I can say this from a standpoint of strength as I was one of the archaeologists on the dig. Well being paid a huge amount load of money to go and not find anything, whilst having a great holiday seemed like a good idea.
I do not imagine the Belarusian Oligarch who bankrolled Burma will be donating to the Ukrainians anytime soon for the Hurricanes restoration!
