Article about: Found this in East German woods. Bakelite and 1939 dated. Also another code too. Can anyone identify its use and if army issued? Thanks

    The maker code M9 and the JMB logo are for Josef Mellert, Fabrik für Feinmechanik (precision engineering), based in Bretten. Looks like a cable junction box.
