It is French and the owner was part of the failed defence of the free world as the Germans invaded his country. The disc has two flags on it, Tricolor and Union Jack. Can’t read any other details, great find. You can keep this one!

Thanks
The sacrifice of life is a huge sacrifice, there is only one that is more terrible, the sacrifice of honor
In Memoriam :
Laurent Huart (1964-2008)
It does throw out some interesting questions being found so near the capital. Was this person a POW? Was it a german soldier’s momento of the french campaign? Maybe even a SS Charlemagne volunteer? This is what makes history so exciting.
