Post war shell canisters?

Article about: Dug these two items out of forest near Berlin. It definitely saw fighting during last months of the war but I expect it was also used for manoeuvres by Russian/DDR forces post war. Obviously

    Dug these two items out of forest near Berlin. It definitely saw fighting during last months of the war but I expect it was also used for manoeuvres by Russian/DDR forces post war. Obviously one on the right is Russian. One on the left appeared to have fabric attached at some point.
    Can anyone identify them for me? Thanks
