Double decal SS Helmet M35 Q62
I received this helmet from my uncle in Germany last year. He bought it from a collector who claimed that he purchsed it yers back from an old US soldier before he went back to the US.
I tried to take pictures of all relevant parts and collected all info I could find on it on the web. It looks almost too good to be true, but apart from stuff seem
I would say it's a M35
Q62
Lot number at the back reads 4588
Inside two stamps both say 55, one has a rectangular border around it
Chinstrap: Sachs & Deisselberg, Hamburg 1940
!! the leather part on the other side seems to me from a different leather than the stamped side of the strap.!!
SS Decal seem to be Poucher??

Hi,
Very nice helmet.
But looks repainted ..?
-
Someone’s project helmet , repainted and fake decals. Chinstrap is ok.

I agree, this is unfortunately too good to be true. The chinstrap itself will at least have some value.

Yup, shell, split pins, liner and chinstrap are original but cobbled together, the liner also has a post war ink size stamp on it.
Paint and decals are bad.
