Help me about this strange helmet

Hi,
i bought this helmet many years ago on ebay market. I don't remember the price paid, i think 150 euros.
I forgot it since now, fews days ago, i tried to understand more about it's strange liner and other strange detail.

1) i can't find any serial number or other reference on the rust...only a trace (see picture)
2) The liner is very strange, i found something similar in civic liner helmet
3) The decal appear a little strange, i think...

i put here some photos and details....someone can help me tu understand what i have bought some years ago?

The liner, innenfutter appears to be from a 1934 model stahlhelm.

This M42 was refurbished as a firefighter helmet after the war , later someone stripped the paint and added a fake SS decal.

Well, worthless is a bit much - worth surely 100-150 bucks, but not more.

If it was refurbished, why is the liner in backwards???
Maybe just someones 'put together'
