Default M 17 LAH maybe the original color?

    Hello everybody,
I would like to hear your opinion on this helmet. I got it online for little money as I was pretty much the first to see the ad.
I was already aware that it was probably not an original LAH helmet ... actually I was looking for a WK 1 helmet. When the good piece came to me, I was unsure ..... So not with the badges, they look too cheap to me and some of them have been repaired with paint. But the helmet color ... actually looks like the original ... and old too. The self-made inner lining is old, the original color can still be seen in the helmet dome. It is an SI 66, the rivets and the sheet metal ring are original ... except that the thicker rivet was accidentally mounted in the front when re-installing. So I ask for your opinion and thank you in advance.

To me the outside paint has less patina than the interior crown.
Remember , black paint does not equal SS as a fixed rule.
First of all feuerschutz used black helmets before and after the war and the exotic liner tells me more it was used post war.
Could it have been used by the LAH before how it looks now , perhaps.
Can it be proven without a doubt no.
So it's good you got it cheap. And as you guessed the decals are reproductions.

    Hello,
Thank you for your assessment, that helps me. Let's see, I'll probably leave the color ... it's old too ... just remove the badges.
