M40 Double Runic SS - ET68 - Lot # 404

I first held this one about 15 years ago when I went to a fellow collector's home to view his collection. I told him then that I would give my left n*# for a double runic. Five years later he called me and proposed a trade - he wanted one of the helmets that I had recently picked up. The DR for my helmet plus what was then an ungodly amount of cash, my right arm and leg, and my first born son. I thought, what the hell, I could hop, and I could always have another kid, so I did the deal. (I visit my son every chance I get.) This one is published in the Hicks/Beaver book. It is my best Third Reich piece, although my netted painted 2nd ID M1 pot is still my overall favorite helmet. Hope you like it. Jim G.

LOVELY LOOKING LID JIM, great condition and complete and i must say you do very well typing with one hand, Nine finger liner as well, i daresay Doug will have a few things to say, cant make out the makers mark on the chinstrap

This one is worth a lot of body parts, congrats Jim! A top shelf ET with the expected Pocher on the opposite side! Send it to Canada for a hands on, I will send it back in, say 70-80 years when I'm done. :-)
