Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse 1939 real deal or not?

Welcome to my first real post!
I came across this Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse, im interested in the authenticity of this peace.
Wanted to ask you guys about this award before buying.
Seller wants 450€, is that a realistic price for this peace if real?

Hello Martin and welcome.

This EK is made by Rudolf Souval. Unfortunately it's hard to tell if it was made before May 1945 or after.
Souval made awards up until the 1970s I believe using leftover wartime stock and newly manufactured pieces from the tools they used before 1945.
Therefore it's hard to be absolutely certain when a particular piece from this maker was produced.

For the price being asked, my advice would be to look for another example that is beyond question.
The box is broken and it's a questionable EK.

My thoughts would be to spend a bit more and get a better example. If you bought the above and wanted to sell in the future, I can't see you getting your money back for a Souval EK1 and a broken case.
