Hello all....finally have picked up my first EK1, I've been after a nice shiny ones by particular makers and keep losing out on them....I saw this "less than minty" one, liked the price and the markings so it will need to be my first....I also recently acquired that "EK1" book to help me on the way...
here are pics for comment/review....when comparing to the book, the barrel block hinge, catch, maker marks all match up....when I look at the die flaws in the book I do not see them all on this piece....I see some of the flaws but in a different location/orientation as the actual frame is rotated in different positions when assembled(this was also noted in the book)
question....so, I am wondering about the die flaws....is this just a matter of progression ?
question....there appears to be a lot of black/greasy/dust accumulation in the beading...would lightly cleaning that perhaps expose the flaws ?
it looks well worn and has a few dings but I like the look of it....all comments are appreciated...thanks for looking
