Eisernes Kreuz 1. Klasse Private purchase. Or not?

I have been given a box of German Medals having been assured they were all
genuine. By performing due diligence, and with the expertise of the members, it
is turning out that they're all so far very good fakes.

This is a WW2 1st Class, by private purchase, screw-back solid example.

Or is it? I have not yet bought any of them.

This is not an original EK1. One piece, soft details, uneven frame edges, blobs on the reverse, crude clamshell that appears to let the threaded bar through the top.

Whilst there are genuine one piece EK1s, they are rare, expensive and this is not one of them.
