Eisernes Kreuz 2. Classe S&L Core

I am attempting to solve a mystery with this Iron Cross 2nd Class. The dates and swastika on the core are very close to a marked S&L in my collection. The frame however, although similar in many ways, does not have a lug, the beading appears a bit narrower, the beads much less defined.

If anyone recognizes this variant, I would appreciate hearing about it.
