Help with Soldbuch units - North Africa

Hi,

I have recently bought a soldbuch to Panzerschutzen Wilhelm Kamper who fought and surrendered in north Africa. I have attached some photos of his soldbuch, one of which shows he was awarded the ‘Panzerkampfabzeichen.in Silber’.

My question is would this imply he was a member of a tank crew?

Following orders, pages 3 and 4 have been removed so it is going be be difficult if not impossible to trace his unit, and the only feldpost number I can read is 44219 dated 4th April 1943 which shows the following


(1.10.1940-27.2.1941) Stab II Panzer-Regiment 202,
(8.9.1942-11.3.1943) Stab u. Stabskompanie Panzer-Abteilung 190
(12.3.1943-7.9.1943) gestrichen (Tunis)

My second question is can his unit be gleaned from this limited information?

I would say that he was an armoured vehicle member, very possibly a panzer, in Panzer-Abteilung 190 of 90.Afrika-Division.
