There are some writing at the top left of the first page that look irregular and messy......very "un- German".

Probably is as its in the same colour pencil as the writing citing his pay in June 45 but I can't read it.

If it is his PoW number, and I don't see any reason why it isn't, then he wasn't taken prisoner by the US Forces as their PoW numbering for German prisoners started with 31G for those captured in Europe.

Imagine if the Brits had those numbers on file? ....... too much to ask I know.
