He was wounded in 5-3-43.
That's the date he was awarded the wound badge, not when he was injured. 29 ID weren't in combat in March 1943 as they were reforming after Stalingrad. Have a look at the Lazarett pages to see the rough date of his wounding.
An interesting book , looks like he was wounded with 13 (IG ) Kompanie Infanterie Regiment 71 . almost certainly during the Stalingrad fighting

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

You need to look at pages 12 & 13 to show the wounding and hospital details.
I've got a couple of Falke Division (29. Inf/Pz. Gren Div) groups posted here have you seen them? Stewy

Looks like he suffered kidney problems (Code 23) and was then released from hospital. I can't quite read the last entry but I think it mentions Granatsplitter (Shrapnel) to various parts of his body including his forearm. As the fighting in Stalingrad had finished by the time that entry was made then it looks like he was injured during the fighting and possibly flown out of the pocket (last flight out was on 23rd January 1943).
