Nice score. Not unusual for Waffen SS to use a Heer Wehrpaß.

Default SS Wehrpass pages in English

The following may be of help to you. They are from the rather old book by Charles Barger & J. Bowman.

If you've got a phone with a camera, google lens is pretty handy. You set the language to translate from/to, and it then translates anything you point it at without having to take a picture, though it can do photos as well. It's very good for non-Latin alphabets in particular, but will work just as well for German.

Anyone know of a place where I can view an example of a wehrpass book without anything written in it, being blank and in English?

I would like to learn about what each column reads and the meaning in English.
    Hi Chuck.

    Thanks you for posting.

I would recommend getting this book. All three versions of the Wehrpaß are covered in detail.-

Copies sometimes come up on eBay for a lot cheaper too, so it is worth keeping an eye out.

    Kind regards,

That is the best way to learn Chuck, read, read and read some more. What can be tricky is learning what all of the abbreviations mean, but there are people and threads here that can help with that.

The entry on page 3 section 6 (Religion) is interesting. ggl = gottgläubig and literally means believing in God. This was used at the time as the designation for those who had left the churches, but declared themselves as non-atheists.

    Kind regards,

    Will.
