Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader
House Carles at the Battle of Hastings

Thank you for looking in the Falke Div history for me Paul D, each small piece adds more to Georg Ernsts’ story.
In my collection i have a Wehrpass to a Stabsgefreiter from 9 / Arty Regt 29 who was KIA in Italy on 25/10/44 he has previously served at Stalingrad with the same unit , he was wounded in action on 23/9/42 and did not return to the unit until after Stalingrad .
