    Hi Scoloo,

    It says Ldw I

This means Landwehr 1 - He was trained, and his age was between 35 and 45 years old.

This section was for his fitness classification and the assignment to a conscription category.

Thanks alot! I know the meaning of landwehr 1 but I didn't saw the abbreviation. Do you also know the meaning of landwehr 1A? I cant find what the A means.

I think Landwehr 1A is a rank, equal to Oberleutnant.

To be honest I’m not sure about Landwehr 1A.

Another suggestion could be, that after his next physical, he was reclassified not only as trained, but also conditionally fit for military service in the war. Meaning he was more likely to be used in the war effort.

Landwehr IA is a further category - the A may well mean that he has a defect that does not impair his fitness.
