Hello friends, I have attached three images from post cards taken from a mountain troop medic's album. From the photos in the book I have ascertained he served in Norway and Italy - first as an NCO and later as an officer. I am having trouble reading the post card from Austria and need some help. Still trying to determine his name and unit. Help much appreciated. Neil

I can't get any names and can only say the post card is addressed to a Mr and Mrs.

I had a look and found some information on the Gebirgsjäger units stationed in the town.

3. Gebirgs Division did take part in the invasion of Norway, but didn't fight in Italy. It is possible that he transferred to another Division, for example 5. Gebirgs Division which did fight in Italy.

Will, thanks for the input. I think you are on the right track. It appears the Sani started as a junior NCO involved in training, moved up to Oberfeldwebel and wound up a Leutnant. This is based on the photos from the book. The spread of post cards include images from Norway and Italy. A jump from 3. GJ to 5. GJ does make sense. Neil
