    "No. 91d

    Inaugurated on 14th March 1942.

    My dear little Elisabeth!

This is the large mess hall!
It is evident from its size what dimensions the home has! - 17 additional photos to follow! - From this, you can guess how much work is burdening my shoulders! Directing 14 cleaning women around; 8 kitchen hands from 7:00 to 11:00 A.M. - And now 8 nurses as well. 9 orderlies! - Keeping everything running. - Everything has to work smoothly! - You can't imagine doing all the math; and now the wages on top of that, too! - So! -
♥-felt greetings and 1,000 kisses, your Erich!

    * A term of endearment that I am at a loss to translate.
    * Jakob Sprenger of Gau Hessen-Nassau.
    ** "Männe" could mean either.

    #6002T:

    "The builder/constructor/architect*!
    Dipl.Ing. Dr. h.c.**
    Westenacher!
    "

*) "Erbauer" could be translated either way; "architect" seems most likely here.
**) i.e. Diplomingenieur [graduate engingeer] Doctor honoris causa [honorary doctor].

    "No. 95a
I used to sit here many times, after I was put in charge of the clothing store

    My dear Elisabeth!

Another cozy little corner from the mess hall. The rhyme says:

'Say little, see and hear a lot,
is of benefit on many days!'

    A thousand greetings and kisses
    from your husband/man*!
    Your Erich!

I will be with you soon! Then I will hold you firmly in my arms!

    My dear Elisabeth!

The actual bowling alley is on the left, behind the benches in the center.
The message I just sent with card 92b is going to fill you with a certain thrill of anticipation. (But it is not my S.F.!) What is it, then??? ... Well, you will see and shall gladly wear it all your life! ... Your husband/man*

Another neat little corner in the mess hall. The rhyme about the groups from Klein-Hessen-Nassau in their traditional dress goes: 'Like the men, so are the times, like the mothers, so are the people, like the families, so is eternity!'

Greeting you and kissing you 1,000 times, hotly and devoutedly is
