Very nice photos guys.
new pick-up:
a nice, clear shot of 3 police officers at the office with framed Adolf photo (as expected) and interesting details of the desk (calendar, stamps, etc.) and the uniforms...
the date in the back is January 16th, 1939 - 'can't help with the rest of the German text I'm afraid...
cheers,
Fabe
It says:
"Zur Erinnerung an unsere
Zusammenarbeit in Wien, Strebersdorf
am 16.1.39 gewidmet seinen
lieben Berufskameraden der Ostmark.
Richard [...]
Dresden"
...meaning:
"As a memory of us
working together at Vienna, Strebersdorf
Dedicated on 16th Jan. 39 to his
dear colleagues of the Ostmark.
Richard [...]
Dresden"
Strebersdorf was once an independent municipality until it was incorporated into the Floridsdorf district of Vienna in 1911.
Ostmark was the post-Anschluss Nazi-era designation for the former country of Austria.
Apparently, the policeman who wrote the dedication was temporarily transferred from Dresden to Vienna after the Austrian annexation; probably in the course of the massive administrative and organizational measures necessary to fully integrate and assimilate the Austrian police into the now-German police apparatus and bring the local policemen in line with the new rules, regulations and procedures.
Sorry, I can't fully make out his last name.
Anyway, a very nice photograph!
as alwasy, many THX for your help!
Okay, I'm addicted to photos. Which isn't a bad thing, cause they're fairly cheap. I'm going to keep posting these here until you guys tell me I'm boring you.
My father and son series continues. Our little boy sure has grown up. I really hope this whole family survived the war. They appear to be a lovely family.
And then there's Hitler, in a postcard
It's a puppy!
I really like the last picture, with its somber mood.
My new pickup, showing Hitler, and Goebbels in the background, and probably others some of you might recognize. The event seems like it might be some sort of groundbreaking ceremony. If anyone recognizes this event, I would love to know more about this.
This isn't an original photo per se, as it's not a print. What I got was an original negative that I've had printed, which you see here:
EDIT:
Negative itself -
