Hi Guys,
I've just spent a very long time looking at these amazing photo's.
In the past I have collected letters and had them translated, but I've only just received my first lot of photos in the last week.
Long story short, my friends uncle passed and the family didn't want anything to do with them and had already thrown out a lot of items before I was told about what they had and offered some money for what was left to prevent any more history lost.
I managed to obtain his I.D tags (Kriegsmarine), Mine sweeper badge, Black wound badge and a stack of photos.
His I.D tags are from 1943, so I'm guessing the photos are 43 - 45.
He was Polish.
I've been told one of the photos is in Rendsburg.
I'm hoping the experts in this thread can I.D any other of the locations and who some of the main officers could be?
Thanks,
Danger

Hauptmann Harald Schmieder IV -Batterie chief of 4./Artillerie Regiment 357. He was honored with the Commendation Certificate of the Commander-in-Chief of the Army ...“Anerkennungsurkunde” in October of 1944 for excellence on the battlefield. His unit worked with soviet grenadier “OST battalions”. As you can see, he wore a very distinctive beard/goatee! The photo itself is very large A4 size
nice Photo taken late 1944
