Great photos! You never told me about the Luftwaffe ones!
I am pretty sure that the first line on the back of that photo reads, "Dein lieber Vater, Sepp", which means, "Your dear father, Sepp". I cannot make out the rest. Andreas will be here to correct and complete that shortly. lol

with the national shield removed as per 1940 regulations.
The Germans issued regulations for removing the shield decal?
Does any one know the purpose of this?

I believe it was because of its high visibility it was practically a target so they were to be removed for concealment. Most were painted over when re-issued in field grey, or when re-painted by the owner.

Ben is correct. Double decal M35's were either factory or depot refurbished, or the shield was removed or painted over by the helmet's owner. Of course some of the double decal finishes survived the war, which is why they are so uncommon and expensive today.
I love Bill's photo because it is the best period photo of such a helmet I have ever seen.

As has been said above, the Wehrmacht's black/white/red shield was abolished for reasons of camouflage. The same applied to the Waffen-SS' Swastika shield.

unknow cufftitle "62" etc...
The cufftitle is for personnel on the staff of the 62nd SS-Standarte.
The text says:
"Übergabe
der 62. SS-
Standarte
an Staf.*)
Heitz
Staf.
Bock
scheidet.
27.V.34
Messeplatz
Pforzheim"
...meaning:
"Turning over
the 62nd SS-
Standarte
to Staf.
Heitz
Staf.
Bock
is leaving.
27/5/34
Messeplatz
Pforzheim"
*) Staf. = Standartenführer.
The 62nd SS-Standarte was commanded by Standartenführer Karl Bock up to 7 May 1934 and by Standartenführer Georg Heitz from 7 May 1934 to 30 June 1938.
From this data and the photo's caption, we can tell that the man in the photo, wearing Standartenführer rank insignia and the "62" cuff title would have to be either Bock or Heitz.
But, since Heitz had won the EKI in WW1 and Bock only the EK2 and the man in the photo does not wear an EKI, it has to be Bock.

Don't mind if I do.
It says:
"Dem lieben Vater.
Sepp.
Hab ihr mein Päkchen schon"
This is slightly misspelled; it should be "Habt" and "Päckchen" and means:
"To my dear father.
Sepp.
Did you get my parcel yet?"
(Primarily used in Southern Germany, "Sepp" is a colloquial/affectionate/short form of "Josef" or "Joseph". In other words, our equivalent of "Joe".)

Thanks for your replies guys.
So all those double decal helmets out there were used against the regulations or they were not used after the regs were instituted?
