Photos which show Non Conformity with Regulations !!
I have seen a large number of photos over the years that show non conformity with uniform regulations and decided to start a thread showing these photos. Some collectors remain convinced that no one would dare to go against regulations in the wearing of uniforms , insignia and equipment in the Wehrmacht especially the SS but contemporary period photos show that this was not the case and at the Front in particular anything went !! The photos show that just because something is different it should't always be dismissed.
Please post any photos you have.
cheers Paul

Hi Paul,
Here's an interesting one of Konteramiral zur See Dr. Paul Meixner, Chief of German Naval Command North Africa. Note he is wearing two DK's, one in silber and one in gold. Whilst it was possible to be awarded both, the Deutsche Kreuz in Gold took precedence and only that should have been worn according to regs. But here is the good doctor wearing both....(and I don't blame him!)
Regards, Ned.

Here is a Heer officer at Stalingrad wearing a very cool improvised helmet cover, made from Soviet amoeba camo fabric. Looks to be held on with a rubber band, and probably hooked tight with bits of wire to the liner band on the inside, or some similar method. Also obvious is his Ppsh41, apparently preferring the firepower of the huge drum mag to his MP40. Oooouurrraaaaaahh
