Just found out the Former SS Hauptscharfuhrer Ewald Ehm passed away about 3 weeks ago , here are a couple of my favourite photos of him.
The first one is of him and Heinz Macher after 16/ D had just forced a breach of the Anti tank ditch around Kharkov in March 1943 and the other shows an interesting placement of his first PVA .
RIP Ewald.

16 D were the Combat Engineer ( Pioniere ) Company of SS Panzer Gren Regt 3 and were trained on normal combat weopons by also demolition , flamethrowers and use of assault boats , Ehm was an expert in all of them but it is quite unusual to see the Steersman badge in wear.

Hans Siptrott,
Tank Commander of PNZ IV Nmr 711 in the 7./SS-PzRgt.1 LSSAH/Kampfgruppe Peiper and a participant in the malmedy trial. In the trial it was determined that Georg Fleps (the loader of Hans siptrott) started shooting at the POW'S with his pistol.
Hans maintained that he never gave an order to shoot and actually kicked his loader to make him stop shooting. He was sentenced to death. Wich later chanched to life in prison. He was released in 1956
