WWII photobook of my grandfather served in Rgt. 616 WH 16
Hello friends of WWII history,
today I want to present you my grandfather's photobook. It is called "Erinnerungen" (Memories)
My grandfather Heinrich König served in Regiment 616 WH 16 as a butcher and a cook. He was born on November 17th 1906 in Castrop-Rauxel, Northrine Westfalia, Germany and died on October 20th in 1994 in Recklinghausen, Northrine Westfalia, Germany at the age of 87 years.
Before WWII he worked in his own butcher store, after the war he worked in his butcher store as well for some years. Later he worked for an assurance company until his retirement.
I had many great years with my grandfather, the best one could wish, so this thread is dedicated to him.
I publish all photos without a copyright imprint, but the copyright to all photos belong to my father MD. Dr. Heinrich König as his still living son.
None of the photos is commented on the back, so I don't know where they've been taken. If someone can tell anything about a photo please feel free to leave a comment.
Re: WWII photobook of my grandfather served in Rgt. 616 WH 16
I thought at first oath of allegiance but not so as they are allready serving soldiers. I think he may have done well or won a Skill at arms (Shooting) competion or military skills event.
My reasoning the shooting lanyard in wear, the rifle pyramid and the steel helmets in wear lasty the schnapps? It must be some celibration of success!
