Brass piece of...what ?

Ok...I will try to clean it... and to make a better photo ;-)

Talking about objects that could be from 'any' time frame : also I found a tent pin (very rusted and thin)...but I think (I'm not sure !) it's from...'present time'... ;-)

And...about that brass piece..., thinking like smb. adviced me...I think is from a soviet artilery shell or maybe mortar ?!

Would be from an artillery shell of some kind. I don't think mortar shells use drive bands.

The new photos of this 'strange' object (iron...most likely)...maybe WWII (I found it in a WWII combat area, aprox. 15-20 cm depth)...?!

Any idea ... ?

I searched on the internet and I think it's a (very old) tow / hitch pin...BUT...not so sure... ;-)
