I don't know about the beach itself, but the hillside on which the german bunkers were positiones was bulldozed over by the americans just a few days after de big day. It is an unusual act which was not done in other "Wiederstandsnest"s.
It took some time to clean up the beach, most of the junk from the battle was dump in the anti tank line behind the dunes.
Never to be dug out.

70 years later today.Make sure with do not forget this sad day.
Yeah! I know the story very well... very intereting.
The author of the book (Keusgen) did not believe the story of the barrel. I think that's a pity because now, it will be forgotten one day...
He runs a museum about WN62 ann the story of the soldiers who had to fight there.
The barrel would be an awesome display in there.
I made a model of WN62 in the scale 1:72. I think I will donate it to him one day.
That is just his opinion ,yes difficult to prove I agree.
