Yes,just like the other pair that was in the collapsed shed I think with a little work the leather could be restored to its original softness

I can't imagine the leather will ever be supple again, it's dead now. Surely the threads will be brittle as all hell so if you were to try these on for a little walkie some time, I reckon they will pop stitches and fall off your feet.
