Major Robert Henry Cain VC by me. He won it in the Battle of Arnhem. Not 100% happy with the face but its the best I can do. I was a little sneaky with getting the photo. I was about to start on colourising a lower quality photo of him I had, but then I realised the colourised photo of him which I was using as a reference was a much higher res so I turned it into black and white, cropped it to my preferences and then clone-tooled out the previous watermark.

I think it looks great. Like taken yesterday
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Sorry but, IMO, not fair to the original owner of this photo.

Yes, I did realise there was ethical issues but I'm on a heavily restricted school computer and getting good images to colourise without Google Images, Pinterest, etc, etc is almost impossible. Here is the the image I was going to do before hand, you'll see the catch. The image is the same but the quality is different. Besides, the person who colourised the other one doesn't own the original.

    Many thanks

    EDIT: Just IMHO

If you would like, I could try and get in touch with the person who did the other one and ask his permission.

I am talking about the original owner of the original photo who watermarked it, not someone else who took it from the net.

Oh ok. That watermark was done by the other colouriser, if you look closely it says RJM Colourisation and gives his name. The original owner of the original photo would be very hard to trace, it was taken after his VC investiture at Buckingham Palace.

    many thanks
