Thanks for drawing our attention to this, What an interesting relic of both World Wars and also linked with the airfield history as well. A lovely relic, I wonder if there are any more hidden under the dunes that will appear again one day.

Theres more than likely more, I've found loads of other things in the sand such as barbed wire pickets, rolls of unused barbed wire, tail sections from mortar bombs etc so I would think its very likely. I've heard that sections of the track have been exposed, however I'm yet to find them.

I've only just seen this thread sorry, Thats a really intresting find. I thought it was intresitng that the kids used to use the wagons to collect the spent cases for scrap
