    It would personally take me forever to read such scribble and Auke helped me with this. It can be suprisingly challenging to make out cursive that is written in a really scribbly way.

    Interesting photo indeed and that it shows soldiers in Vladivostok during the war.

    The interesting thing is that in April 42 they still wear the prewar collar tabs (Vladivostok is far from Moscow regulation is still not arrived )

    Do you mean that they dont wear the ones with the stripe at the middle Dom?

    Yes, if I see clearly they are 35/40 .

    They are. I've just noticed that the '41 regulation collar tabs never got that usual, at least in my opinion. It could be that there wasnt a lot of time to put them into use because of the introduction of shoulder boards in 1943.
