SA dagger Aug. Merten Wv. Solingen-GR Question

Hello scholars and collectors, I was hoping to get some opinions on this on this SA Dagger that bears the makers mark Aug. Merten Wv. Solingen-GR.
Hope i am not breaking any rules or doing something else wrong here.

Usually i collect special and different kind of things and don't really have experience with daggers.
Above the makers mark there are these strange inscriptions that i haven't seen before on these daggers.
I tried to find any information about these myself but got overwhelmed by different manufacturers and configurations.

I have a chance to buy this one but i can see issues that are concerning.
One of them is the fact that the eagle looks weird and the dagger has been taken apart at some point with pliers...
Also there are gaps in various places most notably between the crossguard and blade.
This never would have passed the quality control like this.

The roman numeral I is also on the wrong side i think?

Pommel nut is magnetic but crossguards,scabbard parts (ring, ball tip) and eagle are not when i tested.

Perhaps this is a repro or built from parts and made to look expensive with custom engraving?
Any information would be appreciated.

Well, bad news.

- The Lower guard is Maybe anSS guard with that "I". Not an SA guard

- The upper guard may have surface flaking ... indicating later production

- The blade signature and SA logo are well known fakes

- The scabbard appears to be a painted.

Mixed parentage, bad blade, ruined tang nut ... I'd say moved on to another dagger

Wow that was a quick reply. I was kinda expecting bad news with this one but was still secretly hoping that this might be something special.
I will just give this back to the person who was selling it to me.

Someday i will find a real one with unique or rare features.

Funny that on the 9th of juni on the FB group WWII daggers a similar Mertens appeared, exact same blade but different hardware....
So a batch is launced
