This grip was being sold at a local antique store as being early SA. Can anyone confirm if it's genuine? It is said that early SA daggers were fitted with silvered nickel eagles but a magnet doesn't seem attracted to it (isn't nickel supposed to be ferromagnetic?)

    Did I get bamboozled?

The grip is early period and a common type wood seen with many producers.

Did you get bamboozled? ....depends how much you paid for the grip.
Other than that..the grip is original.

    Thanks for the replies!

Paid about 145 USD total. Seems in line with the prices I see online and besides the couple of hairline cracks and a small chip/indentation to the lower right of the SA roundel I think it's in pretty good condition.
