    The dagger is Highly over cleaned and polished but it is early period correct.

    The flash gives the effect of plated fittings.....next time please take photos using indirect lighting.

    Thank you guys. Does overly polishing affect the collectibility in your opinions?

    Collectors prefer to have them untouched that will show age patina ...over time the patina will return..but that will take many years depending upon climate and area in which a person lives.

    The SA Gruppe "S" is for Silesia and is also correct ...you may want to give a read through this massive SA Gruppe mark list for other early producers with designated markings.

    Best left in found condition ... once you start stripping the dagger down and polishing you polish the value off!!
