Hi Nico..Haenel is renown IMO to have the lowest step crossguard to grip fit next to Kober also a Suhl produced dagger.
Have you taken a very close look at other Haenel examples and you will agree that the dagger you posted is not what it appears.
Dig a little and post a photo ..we have many threads here.

Yes..exactly .....The guard is correct ...its the grip that has been added.
Personally I would wait for a correct and whole example if you are searching for a Suhl made dagger.
Bad condition and mismatched.

Unbelievable this.
My advise buy an good and honest dagger by Wittmann, Meda militaria, Lakeside trader, etc.
It costs few bucks but than you have something to study.
Or are these daggers already yours?
