I think like Paul, this grip is not the original one. I'm waiting for other comments

I agree, the grip is not what we see on Aesculap SA daggers

As we all know these dagger blades were forbidden when Hitler decided to let Ernst Röhm killed/forced suicide.
Many Röhm dagger owners simply replaced their blades and kept the original one in a drawer.
Imo a parts dagger were a found blade was married with an excisting dagger, but not an Aesculap.
Just a nice upgrade in the days, vets did that all the time with army daggers to create a better looking one.
That more or less shows it not has been done by a knowledgeable collector, but most likely years ago by someone who didn't know what aesculap hardware looks like.
Not one for me.
