    I cannot read the name in the s a hanger and I'm not sure whether the numbers are the person's date of birth or their party number or something else.
    And does anyone recognise the stamping which looks like Th?
    This is an early SA by Gerbr Heller.

    The name is Kleemann. There are a lot of them around Stuttgart.

    Should probably add: the Th is for Thüringen, The SA group to which Herr Kleemann belonged. The Numbers could be His "Sturmnummer"

    Is Thuringen a place?
    What is an sa group? Is that based around a geographic location?

    Thüringen is actually a German State.
    The SA group is basically just geographic

    My Bad. Forgot that for everyone outside of Germany it's called Thuringia

    If you look at the 2 links posted on reply #6 you see the more then excellent threads by Adrian and Larry.
    They both use the German names as they should, so you can use the German names rather then the English translations.
