Again: Original or fake? SS dagger RZM M7/14 1051/40SS
Hello again!
This is my second thread.
I found a new SS dagger and I have a few questions about it.
To the dagger itself:
It looks like a very well preserved SS dagger with the identifier "M7/14 RZM 1051/40SS" and the clearly recognizable etching "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" on the blade. On the back of the dagger there is a dedication "Für Tapferkeit im Ostfeldzug 1942, SS-Obersturmbannführer Brant(?)", in english: "For bravery in the Eastern campaign in 1942, SS-Obersturmbannführer Brant (?)". I didn't find any punches on the crossguard. The handle is firmly and precisely connected to the knife or the crossguard, the SS pastille and the eagle are just as tight and fit in the designated places. Between the crossguard and the scabbard, there is no bump leather attached to the blade. The knife sheath is black, the fittings are each fastened with 2 screws, the handle and fittings seem to be in their original, unopened condition, and the metal plate is also in perfect condition.
Unfortunately, I cannot say anything about the materials used and would be grateful for any reasonable assumption.
I am also not sure about the market or collector value of such daggers. I would therefore also be very indebted to you through a professional assessment.
Well Hi Matt and I surely hope you did not purchase this piece of junk.
Not only is the RZM number incorrect ..but the application of it was performed most likely by a child.
Lets start here : RZM 7/14 belongs to PD Luneschloss
the SS contract number 1051 belongs to Robert Klaas .....that combination never happened nor did they share contract numbers.
For the faker out there who tried their best..the SS contract number would be 1058 for PD Luneschloss
The dagger is parted together junk and the grip is a horrid fit.
The dedication is laser etch.
The grip and guards are real but do not belong with the rest of the dagger or each other.
Save your money.
