Were all roman numeral marks stamped on the reverse guard and center marked? or has anyone seen a carl Bertram with the Roman numeral I marked to the obverse (front) guard on the far left side? Tia

Well I hope this dagger is not yours. I think the blade is most likely a laser etched fake. That makes the location of the district stamp irrelevent IMO...
It's not mine but I was interested in the gau marking being off center. The link to the auction is below thru gunbroker. Looks like several are bidding on it as original as the price is getting up there already... too bad for the winner! Btw aside from the blade being most likely laser etched do you ever see gau marking off center like this one? Thanks Skyline,
Ben

Never seen a district mark off center like that on an original dagger. Because the blade is most likely fake, I would be suspect of the rest of the dagger including the location of the district stamp.
I also agree with Mr Skyline ....all SS district stamps are always in the center of the lower reverse guard ....sometimes we see those district stampings sideways but are always still in the center.
