From the photos, that is a nice dagger and everything looks as it should. It has been cleaned, and does not seem to have any damage. What does the inside of the hanger look like ?

1938 Produced Hanger and may have been added later onto the dagger.
Can we see 2 more photos of the upper scabbard both sides to see if there is a rub mark from hanger carry and wear ...please.

Tim,
The hanger looks good, but practically unused . As Larry says it was probably put on later after one failed of the guy was ordered to switch to a vertical hanger.
