And a final view to compare the silver colour with an early JACOB (could make a post on it...) ....Only nickel silver...No nickel plated over iron here....

    Bravo

Now that greater photos has established bringing forth the truth ...It is true that the guards are early production period.

This will be a 2 pronged educational thread which the first is that ...Clear photos are a must to determine authenticity ..which Athor has proven with the Guards.

the 2nd is the continued discussion about this Chained SS dagger.

The lower crossguard is an Inhouse Eickhorn produced guard witht he markings HE ( Haus Eickhorn ) ...the number 4 is only seen on Eickhorn SA and SS daggers ...which 0 - 9 have been observed beneath their lower crossguards. This number is a Quality control number.

The upper Guard early as well..but not Eickhorn being unmarked and also not having the same deep accent grooves as the lower guard.
Although these guards are period authentic ..Im not a fan of the combination being used on a Chained SS ...we have also seen SA Gruupe marked lower guards on Chained examples as well....but there are those including myself that are purists and would either want both guards unmarked or internally marked PA ( Piel & Adey) ...personal preference.

So as far as the use of guards are concerned its collectors choice ...but SS dagger collectors rather stay with a text book examples.

I see no issues with the chain as well with these newer photos unless someone else may have objections or seeing something I may have over looked. Im still on the fence with the chain links some being very shiney.

Im still not convinced though of the upper and lower scabbard fittings being early Nickel due to the photos...or again maybe over cleaned.

Im afraid of taking a short cut through a bad neighborhood when I could go 10 minutes out of my way and not get hit over the head...is my personal feeling with this Chained Dagger.

The greater photos did help alot Athor ..you done well with the photos. For me the Chain and dagger is 99% ...which the one percent Im still not sure of due to the photos. Im just not used to seeing an early B1 Type with shiney link connectors.

Can we see a photo of the top and bottom grip holes?

I would like to hear more thoughts and comments from the Chained SS dagger type collectors.

    Regards Larry

Many thanks for your expertise and the time spent on my dagger. I've found the reason of the too brightness look ;-))))
