'' weird form '', because the ball is dented?
Yes, it has been dropped and it has deformed it. Not unusual to see but this one has suffered more than most.

I just thought it to be weirdly straight for a deformation to do that like that mushorm form.
Hi, Just bought a chained dagger missing chainlink. What i can see is just like this;
Original Rare German WWII Model 1936 Officer's Chained SS Dagger with – International Military Antiques
Is from an reliable seller, although in rough condition some cracks bit fitting looks fairly good, blade fitting really good better than the one compered to in the link.
My thought is the chain attachment is so narrow i cant find a good one to compare with have someone seen chain attachment like this?
The sides of chain attachment ended up with paint when someone wanted to better the paint?
Per ....I merged your thread into your previous thread of the same CH SS dagger. There is no need to start another thread of the exact same topic...which will have members posting on both threads.
Please keep all pertaining data and photos all in the same thread for discussion.
You can compare here since your dagger is a Type II > Archives | Lakesidetrader
or next time you go to the Max Show you can study some CH SS daggers in hand
Cute little Unicorn

The prices have gone up a little recently. How much are you buying for, if I may ask?
1600E overpriced? I really dont know. I will be searching for a type 2 chain.
I have this question what is it that makes a little yellowish or gold patina? I've seen it on a few worn daggers but mostly don't have it?
IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WW2 German Waffen SS chained dagger TYPE II Chain
I found a seller and its quite rare i suppose with a very hefty price tag. The chain looks a bit off, skulls and runes looks different from other type 2 chains i studied. Runes are to narrow, skulls eyes are round and not as detailed?

High nickel content gives it that yellowish gold hue appearance on the crossguards and rarely on scabbard fittings. There is nothing wrong with it.
The chain you listed and (( next time please upload the photos and do not provide links as I will do this for you this one time .... Links will be useless to this community once that item is sold and removed of the sellers site ))
That chain shown on that site is a mid period production type deemed a Type B2 ...your dagger example is either an early production Type A or Type B1 which both of these types have nickel fittings and none of it are plated.
The one tab skull on the left side of the chain appears to be fake ...but the photos by the seller are lacking in clarity.
Regards Larry
