And for the image collectors, that RZM code or contract number was also used without the "RZM" prefix.

I may have jumped the gun a bit and my apologies ...but I have no apologies for DG.DE and their inventory. They have a bad track record and their past dealings here exposed someone connected to them trying to vet post war junk through this website...so seeing DG.DE set me sets off alarms.
As for those who are reputable sellers....everyone makes mistakes including dealers and also Forums such as this and its members once in awhile.
We discuss the artifacts here ...where this is a persons last stop before they spend thousands of dollars. I have no doubts on the authenticity of the identity of the RZM number...just how the dagger may have been produced post war as Gerrit pointed out.
So Mr Dio..glad you brought it here for discussion ....if it quacks like a duck doesnt necessarily mean its one.
By the way COAs ( certificates of authenticity ) are worthless as well and are only worth the paper it is written on. get the facts first...your money is on the line.
Also Mr Dio..well done for becoming a Gold member and welcome to the community. Your journey begins here and you will gain more here through study.
Best Regards Larry

Hello all,
I've just a question : I was told that the top of the "4" must be open - like on my EICKHORN dagger :

From what I see on the pictures on this post, it's not always the case ?

Athor,
I think that applies to the 941 code as used by Eickhorn but not to all dates like 40 or 41. I have seen it both ways on dates.
The dagger in this thread is the latest type of scam coming from czech slovakia.
They come with different maker logo's, once you spot one the next will be easier.
Heavily corroded guards, grip with little to no wear, crossgrain is machine made and look like scratched instead of the original leather band polish.
Here another one from the same faker.
Regards
Ger
Gerrit, not surprised it's so well done these day, I made another comparison with my newly bought 1939 fat tail Eickhorn some days ago SS 1939 rat tail dagger
