Other than the typical grey we see on alot of these high profile blades ...there seems to be something a little off with it that I can not put my finger on.
I will dig into this further ..and more thoughts and opinions are welcome.

Another views of the crossguards...The upper one is HE marked - correct for EICKHORN - and the lower (with no control number) seems unmarked or un readeable....

Your correct that HE stamped guards are what's found on Himmler daggers. However, the lower one is absent any markings. That is not OK, IMO.
Missing Bench-Mark stamping are known on period originals (Stamped examples are preferred).

On Split-Tail Eickhorn logo examples I don't care for the 'Lump Throat' ones as this one exhibits.
That said, other veteran collectors may think different.
On the blade; close inspection of the motto and dedication is required by a seasoned veteran. It's getting harder to photo appraise these as the reproductions have become excellent.
Without outstanding photos, I would not made a 'good' or 'bad' appraisal, but only say if you proceed, due it with caution, as IMHO, this is not a textbook example.

Here is a thread on WAF, (if it is OK with Larry to post a link here) that may show a debate on this type of variant.

For what dealers ask for these if 1 thing is wrong, such as the bench mark being missing, then seeing the cross guard not having the traditional HE says leave the item and find 1 that hits all the known factors on the check off list.

Personally I don't like the motto either, close but no cigar.

Image I attached is of a known original, note in the Himmler signature the connecting line between the i and the m, the image of the 1 you posted to start this thread is not a match. These mottos were very precise in their application.

Thankyou Serge and Rich greatly for your input.

@ Athor ...the lower guard appears to be marked " H E " ....and I may be splitting hairs here as the accent grooves are not matching in depth although both are In house Eickhorn crossguards ...just my observations and the link provided by Serge is a must read for further study.

Himmler daggers along with Rohm SS daggers have almost been perfected in being copied.

There are more gangsters now more so than the seasoned Himmler type collectors ..our job here and on all like minded forums is to show the truth and difference in these daggers.
The fakers read these threads as well ...perfecting their craft.

It's a nice example all the way through, and what I would expect to see.
