I have a chance to pick this up. Any idea on what I should offer, maximum? USD please.

Missing chinstrap, no decal, fair amount of rust mixed in with the paint.......not an especially desirable helmet, so I would not pay more than $100 for it as is.

Welcome to the forum.
Personally I would save my money and pass on it and look for a nicer example.
But the lure of a first helmet is strong$75 would be my top value given the condition and that it is missing any form of a decal.

Plenty of Luftschutz helme in far better condition for low money. I'd pass on it too. Patience young Padawan.
For reference I just saw this one with intact liner and chin strap for sale for just under $75 near me. I too would pass on it.

I am not a helmet guy by any stretch. I would wait and spend 100$- 200$ more and you can buy a nice one with a good decal. Perhaps even a beaded M40 or M42.
Agree with all above... Save your money and wait for a better example..
After many years collecting I learned that quality over quantity is your best course of action..
